  2. I learned how everything is searchable and that the internet has infant amount of space so no matter what we will have room for the internet. I also learned that the internet is non linear so its audience control, which is What information, how we get it and where we get it (:

    1.What was apranet made for? Aparanet is what the military used so they didn’t have to have all the computers in one place. It is also the grandfather to the internet.

  3. This past week while we were talking, anolog and digital information really stood out. It makes alot more sence now. Anolog is very slow because the file size is really big, and there is alot od distance. Digital is very fast becuase the file size is slow, and the space is closed.

    1. What is audience Control? Allows audience to have greater controll over information.
    2. What is an anchor? A link that takes you back to the top.
    3. What is story structure? Stories do not need to be accessed in a predetermined order.

  4. I learned things about digital media like things about hardware and software. I mainly learned stuff about software and how to use it. The thing that clicked for me is the naming for the certain types of files.
    1.What are hyperlinks? Hyperlinks are something you can click on and it will take you to that website.
    2.What is a anchor? A anchor is something on a webpage and it can move you to certain parts on the page like the top or bottom or middle.

  5. Arpanet was the first internet built by the government. It was built for the military originally. They split them up all over so that if one station go bombed with a computer then it wouldn’t destroy all of them. A IP address is an address that every computer has and is open to every computer.

    Answer: Text effects, Photographs, Illustrations, artwork and other visual elements.

    Answer: Several Kilobytes.

  6. Something new that I learned from the Lecture is ARPANET. It is TCP/IP. Also I learned about Nonlinearity which is Hyperlink( goes to to different site), Anchors(Goes to the top of the page), Story Structure(Floor Plan, Budget, Timeline, Interviews, slides).

    1. What is the difference between Internet and WWW?
    Answer: WWW is the Image, media, color and Internet is the connectivity, cable, wire, the physical connection.
    2. What Does LAN stand for?
    Answer: Local Area Network
    3. What does TCP/IP stand for?
    Answer: Transmission control protocol/ Internet Protocol.

  8. i really liked enjoying what TEXT was for the internet. I didn’t do a whole lot about what it was or meant. But now i do and its really interesting what all the domain names were.

  10. I enjoyed learning about bits, bytes, etc. I didn’t really know what the digital sizes were or how much storage they had. Now I know all of the names and how data they hold.

  11. This past week in class we had the opportunity to learn about the internet and how it is so easy for users to get information as easy as 123. One thing we learned was Audience Control . Audience Control allows the audience / user to have greater control over information such as What they want to see how and where . Its no longer old media listeners viewers readers but USERS you control the internet now not it controls you !

    An example of analog waves is talking. When you talk the air waves are disrupted and that is analog waves.

  13. We learned about the difference between the Internet and the web. The internet is the physical connection between the computers and the web servers. While the web (www) is the data that us “users” see, such as websites. Tied into that is the LAN (local area network) and the ISP (internet service provider) which are the stages that the web data is transferred from one computer to another.

    1. What are some advantages to the Internet?
    A: Unlimited space, user defined, instant.
    2. What are the three types of search engines?
    A: Crawler-based, Human-based, Hybrid-based.
    3. How many bits are in a byte?
    A: 8 bits

  15. I learned about the two types of Syndication: Push and Pull. Push is server to client, such as when you subscribe to get emails or texts. Pull is client to server, such as google or other search engines.
